Scott Elk – Rock & Pop Musician at the Jersey Shore

If you’re born into a family of musicians, you’re lucky. And chances are pretty good that you’ll be influenced by that musical vibe and become a musician too. This was the case with Jersey Shore musician Scott Elk. His dad was a lead singer and guitar player in a band and was instrumental (pun intended) in Scott getting involved. Scott started playing piano at 5 years and learned to play guitar at 19 after receiving one from his dad. He began playing piano in public talent shows at 18 and won his college talent show, the best of 20 acts, playing guitar and singing Crush by Dave Matthews. Scott has performed at various places such as Sawa, Taste, Dockside, Mad Hatter, CJ Montanas, Surf Taco, Original Oyster, Hoboken, and The Wine Loft. He is passionate about giving back to the community and has been involved in charitable events such as A Night of Hope To Feed the Soul Benefit for JBJ Soul Kitchen, Restore the Shore, Music For Life Fundraiser for Erin West Formica, Rockin for Autism and Tracey Alva's Mission for MS. In 2012, he performed an original song on the FOX TV Show, Take Me Out, with George Lopez. Scott’s musical influences include The Beatles, Chris Cornell, Doors, Dave Matthews Band, Pearl Jam, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel, and the Goo Goo Dolls. He recently had the opportunity to meet one of his long-time musical idols and will share that exciting experience with us. Last year Scott became a partner in You-Nique Dating, a matchmaking service, and we’ll hear more about that as well. After the interview, please check After Hours at Jersey Coastal Live for more information.
